The Minister of Secondary Education and the General Manager of Nachtigal Hydro Power Company have inaugurated this Thursday February 8th the electro-technical workshop rehabilitated and equipped by NHPC, as part of the partnership agreement signed on June 22nd 2017 between MINESEC and NHPC.

For the record, the partnership agreement aims at strengthening the technical training capacities within the project area in order to promote the professional insertion of the local workforce during the construction phase of the project, which represents a significant opportunity in terms of employment.
This approach is part of NHPC’s environmental and social commitments, and illustrates the company’s wish to support both the training and the professional insertion of young Cameroonians in particular, and to contribute to the country’s economic development in general.

The said agreement is meant to provide support to the civil engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering fields. In that respect, the technical secondary schools of Obala, Mbandjock, Ntui and Batchenga have benefited of the rehabilitation of their workshops and the supply of technical equipment. Beyond the latter, the agreement seeks to encourage the students and their educators to learn more about the said fields through study visits, trainings, and internships at NHPC.
